Anne released her album in February 2001 - entitled " Paddy Vincent " (RBCD1024) and is a tribute album to her late father.
This album was recorded during 2000 and encapsulates the music much-loved by Paddy, himself an untrained natural musician. Paddy was an Irish immigrant in the 1940s, who met and married his wife, Anne, also from Ireland, then settled in Kinross where he remained for the rest of his life. He was fiercely protective of his five children, and treated them to impromptu concerts on his button-key accordion, along with funny stories as only he could tell them.
Apart from Paddy's favourite songs, including Maggie, The Dark Island and One Day at a Time, the album includes several stunning new songs:
Crossing the Borders was written by Gillian Murray , a contemporary songwriter with a string of successful and popular songs to her credit. Already hailed as an "excellent" song, Crossing the Borders was written especially for this album and describes the special relationship between Anne Pack and Paddy.
A Love that Binds is a poem set to music, the words of which were written by Anne's sister Jean and read by her at the funeral service. For anyone who has lost a loved one this song will offer comfort and hope.
Paddy Vincent was written by Anne and is a true story about her Dad. Anne has tried to capture the many facets that were Paddy and to date many positive reviews have been received about this 'ethereal' song.
