Anne Pack - Middle Time

RBCD 1031

Two self-penned songs are on this album:

The Unknown Bairn ~ based on a true story about a little boy of about two years old, whose body was found on Tayport beach nearly 40 years ago, and who, to this day remains unclaimed. The townspeople gave him a Christian burial and his grave-stone is etched "The Unknown Bairn".

Guardian Angel ~ inspired by a gift sent to me from Ontario of a beautiful glass and lead figure of an angel. The sender challenged me to write a song about it, and this is it. According to Daniel O'Donnell it is a lovely song.

The song Middle Time became 'our song' around the time Alan and I celebrated our silver wedding anniversary. I later met the composer Allan Taylor, who was very pleased I had recorded it for this reason.

Some Hae Meat by Ian Walker is a clever adaption of The Selkirk Grace.

Other writers I admire have been included: Charlie Landsborough, Moira Kerr, Gillian Murray, and Robin Laing.

I was honoured to have two tunes written for me by Peter Campbell and Evelyn Miles and they can be heard on this CD.
